I have asked our local professors to add Chinese studies to the school and hopefully they will take up the idea. It is vital, I think, for Americans to learn Mandarin. China plays a huge role in our economy and it only makes sense that students learn the Chinese language. I will admit, though, having tried to teach myself Mandarin, it is very difficult.
